Per explicar-ho de manera simple: \u00e9s com si la ment es despert\u00e9s, per\u00f2, en canvi, el cos continu\u00e9s adormit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Tot i que no sol durar m\u00e9s d\u2019un o un parell de minuts, la sensaci\u00f3 d\u2019angoixa que els pacients experimenten durant aquest interval \u00e9s del tot comprensible. En alguns casos, s\u2019afegeix a la immobilitat corporal al\u00b7lucinacions o somnis, com, per exemple, la impressi\u00f3 que hi ha alg\u00fa a l\u2019habitaci\u00f3, entre altres percepcions visuals o auditives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aquest trastorn \u00e9s relativament freq\u00fcent: es calcula que afecta de manera recurrent fins a un 8 % de la poblaci\u00f3, encara que, igualment, es creu que fins a un 50 % de persones en patir\u00e0 algun episodi al llarg de la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"El_son\"><\/span><strong>El son<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El son t\u00e9 dues etapes fonamentals, que se succeeixen c\u00edclicament durant la nit: la fase no-REM i la fase REM. REM s\u00f3n les sigles de <em>Rapid Eye Movement, <\/em>\u00e9s a dirmoviment ocular r\u00e0pid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La fase no-REM, d\u2019una banda, compr\u00e8n la transici\u00f3 d\u2019estar despert (\u00e9s a dir, la vig\u00edlia) a tenir un son profund i s\u2019acostuma a subdividir en tres per\u00edodes: endormiscament, son i son profund. Durant el son profund \u00e9s quan descansem m\u00e9s i la respiraci\u00f3, el ritme card\u00edac i la pressi\u00f3 arterial disminueixen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La fase REM, d\u2019altra banda, es caracteritza pels moviments r\u00e0pids dels ulls que li donen nom, i durant aquesta fase la respiraci\u00f3 i el ritme card\u00edac es tornen a accelerar i augmenta la pressi\u00f3 arterial. Alhora, els m\u00fasculs es paralitzen. \u00c9s la fase en qu\u00e8 se somia i durant la qual es consoliden la mem\u00f2ria i els records. Durant vuit hores de son saludable se\u2019n compten cinc cicles de mitjana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La par\u00e0lisi del son es manifesta quan el desvetllament es produeix en plena fase REM, moment en qu\u00e8 el cervell est\u00e0 despert, per\u00f2, en canvi, els m\u00fasculs no.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[mautic type=&#8221;content&#8221; slot=&#8221;ebook-03-ca&#8221; \/]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quina_nes_la_causa\"><\/span><strong>Quina n\u2019\u00e9s la causa<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No se\u2019n saben amb exactitud les causes. S\u00ed que sabem, per aix\u00f2, que el trastorn apareix m\u00e9s sovint en els casos seg\u00fcents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Quan es dorm poc o no prou<\/li><li>No se segueix un horari fix a l\u2019hora d\u2019anar a dormir<\/li><li>Quan les persones estan sotmeses a tensi\u00f3 o estr\u00e8s<\/li><li>Quan les persones dormen de panxa enlaire<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>De la mateixa manera, la par\u00e0lisi del son es manifesta en pacients amb els seg\u00fcents problemes m\u00e8dics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Problemes del son, com ara la narcol\u00e8psia<\/li><li>Problemes mentals, com ara el trastorn bipolar, el trastorn de p\u00e0nic o el trastorn d\u2019estr\u00e8s posttraum\u00e0tic (TEPT)<\/li><li>Persones que prenen alguns medicaments per combatre el trastorn de d\u00e8ficit d\u2019atenci\u00f3 a causa de la hiperactivitat (TDHA)<\/li><li>Persones que consumeixen drogues<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tractament_Quan_cal_anar_al_metge\"><\/span><strong>Tractament. Quan cal anar al metge<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hem d\u2019aclarir que no hi ha res que h\u00e0gim esmentat abans que es pugui considerar com la causa de la par\u00e0lisi del son: simplement es produeix m\u00e9s sovint en els casos que s\u2019han citat. Repetim que no se saben quines causes t\u00e9 el trastorn, de manera que no es pot tractar. Tanmateix, es pot intentar d\u2019evitar-ne les circumst\u00e0ncies que l\u2019afavoreixen i que hem recollit en el punt anterior; per tant, cal dormir prou hores, sempre seguint un mateix horari, procurar evitar l\u2019estr\u00e8s (amb meditaci\u00f3 o <em>mindfulness<\/em>), no dormir panxa enlaire i, per descomptat, no consumir drogues.
