Per\u00f2 en els \u00faltims anys s&#8217;ha comprovat que el cervell pot elaborar noves xarxes neuronals: \u00e9s l&#8217;anomenada neuroplasticitat. \u00c9s a dir, s&#8217;ha comprovat que el cervell t\u00e9 una certa capacitat d&#8217;adaptaci\u00f3 i que mant\u00e9 molts dels seus recursos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>De totes les dem\u00e8ncies, la m\u00e9s freq\u00fcent i coneguda \u00e9s la malaltia d&#8217;Alzheimer. Es creu que a Espanya hi ha m\u00e9s de 650.000 malalts que n&#8217;estan afectats. I, com que cada vegada vivim m\u00e9s, les previsions estableixen que es pot sobrepassar el mili\u00f3 de malalts cap a l&#8217;any 2030.<\/p>\n<p>El factor m\u00e9s important per contraure-la \u00e9s l&#8217;envelliment. Una persona de m\u00e9s de 65 anys t\u00e9 el doble de probabilitats de desenvolupar-la, i la probabilitat es duplica cada 5 anys a partir d&#8217;aquesta edat.<\/p>\n<h2>Qu\u00e8 pots fer per millorar la teva salut cerebral<\/h2>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3 indiquem 7 estrat\u00e8gies que poden ajudar-te que mantinguis una millor salut cerebral.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Mantingues l&#8217;activitat<\/h3>\n<p>\u00c9s ben sabut que l&#8217;exercici \u00e9s fonamental per mantenir en forma la ment; recorda aquella dita: Mens sana in corpore sano. No se sap amb certesa per qu\u00e8 aix\u00f2 \u00e9s aix\u00ed, i els experts no acaben de pronunciar-se. Es pensa que l&#8217;activitat f\u00edsica regular millora el flux de sang al cervell i estimula el creixement de noves neurones i xarxes neuronals. A m\u00e9s, redueix el risc de malalties com la diabetis, la hipertensi\u00f3, l&#8217;obesitat i l&#8217;exc\u00e9s de colesterol.<\/p>\n<p>En qualsevol cas, cada vegada hi ha m\u00e9s estudis que demostren que l&#8217;exercici \u00e9s una part molt important de la funci\u00f3 cerebral. Un estudi recent, publicat a la prestigiosa revista Neurology, basat en m\u00e9s de 1.200 voluntaris, als quals es va fer un seguiment durant cinc anys, va mostrar que els qui no feien exercici (o en feien molt poc) van veure la seva capacitat cognitiva molt m\u00e9s disminu\u00efda que els que s\u00ed en feien. (Naturalment, l&#8217;estudi va descomptar altres factors de risc a l&#8217;hora de la comparaci\u00f3.)<\/p>\n<p>La pregunta que sorgeix \u00e9s: quant d&#8217;exercici cal fer? Sembla que en aix\u00f2 s\u00ed hi ha unanimitat, i es recomana un m\u00ednim de mitja hora di\u00e0ria. Pot ser caminar, nedar, c\u00f3rrer, anar en bicicleta o qualsevol altre que &#8220;mogui&#8221; el cor. En qualsevol cas, procura que l&#8217;exercici que facis et resulti entretingut, ja que, en cas contrari, augmentar\u00e0 el risc d&#8217;abandonar-lo.<\/p>\n<h3>2. No t&#8217;a\u00efllis<\/h3>\n<p>No \u00e9s bo estar sol; \u00e9s perjudicial per al cervell. Un estudi sobre m\u00e9s de 1.000 adults que va durar 12 anys, va fer pal\u00e8s que per cada punt d&#8217;increment en l&#8217;activitat social, s&#8217;obtenia un 47% de risc menor de declivi mental global, tot i que un altre estudi elevava la xifra fins al 70%. L&#8217;activitat social s&#8217;associa molt clarament amb menys declivis mentals, i a m\u00e9s influeix directament en la salut del cor i en les probabilitats de patir depressions.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Fes coses noves<\/h3>\n<p>Fer coses noves: aprendre alemany, estudiar m\u00fasica, matricular-se en un curs d&#8217;hist\u00f2ria de l&#8217;art&#8230; L&#8217;\u00fas del cervell far\u00e0 que experimentis menys declivi cognitiu. Segons alguns experts, gaireb\u00e9 un de cada cinc casos de disfuncions o dem\u00e8ncies s&#8217;atribueixen a la manca d&#8217;activitat mental, fet que converteix l&#8217;activitat en el factor principal. Com m\u00e9s coses noves emprenguis, millor. La moralitat \u00e9s &#8220;utilitza el teu cervell o ves acomiadant-te&#8217;n&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Menja b\u00e9: la dieta mediterr\u00e0nia<\/h3>\n<p>No hi ha gaires evid\u00e8ncies que la dieta influeixi espec\u00edficament en la salut cerebral, fonamentalment en les dem\u00e8ncies.<\/p>\n<p>Dit aix\u00f2, sembla haver-hi acord en el fet que la nostra dieta de tota la vida, la dieta mediterr\u00e0nia, \u00e9s ideal en mat\u00e8ria de nutrici\u00f3, de manera que ho tens f\u00e0cil. Ja ho saps: oli d&#8217;oliva, fruita i verdura, llegums, fruita seca, etc., alhora que cal limitar les carns vermelles i el sucre, i suprimir les carns processades. El peix blau, els alvocats i la fruita seca proporcionen els greixos ideals.<\/p>\n<p>Tingues en compte, finalment, que diversos estudis indiquen que a Espanya estem tendint a oblidar la dieta mediterr\u00e0nia, i que se n&#8217;adopten d&#8217;altres, d&#8217;importades, molt menys sanes.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Tingues cura del nivell d&#8217;estr\u00e8s<\/h3>\n<p>Aqu\u00ed s\u00ed que hi ha unanimitat. La ci\u00e8ncia assegura que hi ha una associaci\u00f3 clara entre l&#8217;estr\u00e8s cr\u00f2nic i la salut mental.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;estr\u00e8s es produeix per l&#8217;elevaci\u00f3 del nivell d&#8217;una hormona, el cortisol, que a la llarga t\u00e9 efectes perniciosos sobre les neurones i que afecta diversos aspectes de la cognici\u00f3, com l&#8217;atenci\u00f3, la mem\u00f2ria i l&#8217;aprenentatge.<\/p>\n<p>Si pateixes estr\u00e8s, has de fer tot el possible per controlar-ho, suprimint els factors que el provoquen i desenvolupant t\u00e8cniques per mitigar-lo, com l&#8217;exercici f\u00edsic, la meditaci\u00f3 o, fins i tot, el coaching mental. Les t\u00e8cniques de relaxaci\u00f3, com el ioga i la meditaci\u00f3, tamb\u00e9 poden ser de molta ajuda.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4353\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mgc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/pareja-cocinando2.jpg\" alt=\"Pareja cocinando\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<h3>6. Dorm b\u00e9<\/h3>\n<p>Tamb\u00e9 hi ha unanimitat. El son de qualitat \u00e9s fonamental per mantenir una bona salut mental. No nom\u00e9s exerceix funcions reparadores de les funcions corporals, sin\u00f3 que reactiva les experi\u00e8ncies del dia i les consolida en la mem\u00f2ria: fa que les coses no s&#8217;oblidin, o s&#8217;oblidin menys.<\/p>\n<p>La manca de son, segons alguns estudis, est\u00e0 associada a l&#8217;aparici\u00f3 de plaques cerebrals, que \u00e9s un s\u00edmptoma inequ\u00edvoc d&#8217;Alzheimer. Al seu torn, les plaques interrompen el son, i aix\u00f2 produeix m\u00e9s plaques: un cercle vici\u00f3s indesitjable.<\/p>\n<p>No prenguis caf\u00e8 a la tarda, evita l&#8217;alcohol, dorm sempre amb l&#8217;habitaci\u00f3 ventilada i fresca, completament a les fosques, i procura mantenir certa rutina en el teu horari. Tot aix\u00f2 pot ajudar-te a dormir millor.<\/p>\n<h3>7. Tingues cura del cor<\/h3>\n<p>La salut card\u00edaca tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s crucial per a la salut mental. Els problemes card\u00edacs i cardiovasculars, sempre m\u00e9s freq\u00fcents a mesura que s&#8217;envelleix, afecten el cervell (sense comptar altres riscos &#8220;m\u00e9s grans&#8221; com l&#8217;accident cerebrovascular o ictus).<\/p>\n<p>Quan envellim, les venes i art\u00e8ries van perdent elasticitat, de manera que el reg sanguini del cervell tendeix a disminuir, fet que suposa menys aportaci\u00f3 d&#8217;oxigen i de glucosa, tots dos vitals per a la salut neuronal.<\/p>\n<p>Controla&#8217;t la pressi\u00f3 arterial (pren-te la tensi\u00f3) i comprova que els teus nivells de colesterol i homociste\u00efna s\u00f3n els adequats: consulta el teu metge perqu\u00e8 demani, si ho considera oport\u00fa, una an\u00e0lisi de sang.<\/p>\n<p>Envellir, amb els problemes que comporta, ens afecta a tots. Hi ha coses inevitables (l&#8217;her\u00e8ncia, per exemple) per\u00f2 si segueixes tot el que hem dit fins ara, que est\u00e0 a la teva m\u00e0, probablement envelleixis millor.
